‘Myiagra’ Flycatcher

Today while birding near Darwin Hospital Sheryl Keates and myself found an interesting male ‘myiagra’ flycatcher, I assume that it is a race of Leaden Flycatcher (Myiagra rubecula) but it is certainly has a quite different sheen from the ‘powder-blue’ one that is seen on males that pass through our area in SE Queensland, it also had a much more prominent crest although it didn’t raise it whilst I was watching.

Images are available on my picasa site at http://picasaweb.google.com/aviceda/Darwin#5510430706900015810

Also present was a probable female Leaden shown here http://picasaweb.google.com/aviceda/Darwin#5510429455087786626

and Broad-billed Flycatchers http://picasaweb.google.com/aviceda/Darwin#5510437115805018562

Unfortunately I haven’t had time to annotate the pics with too much detail,

Any constructive comments welcome,

Tom
