Little Wattlebird using abandoned Blackbird nest

Hi all

I’ve just been sent pics of that, to me, confirm this behaviour (in Cheltenham, southern Melbourne).

The nest is a deep cup on an inner fork of a small tree with the wattlebird sitting well down in the cup.

Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Please see Hugh Ford’s response below. Hugh has worked extensively on large honeyeaters:

    “Hi Greg

Nothing about such behaviour in HANZAB, and I have not heard of such a site.

    Cheers

    Hugh”
