In Israel, they’ve gone about this very practically. In agricultural fields where rodents predominate, they erected nesting boxes for both barn owls and kestrels. These encouraged their inhabitants to breed and thus provide food for their young. Rat and mouse populations plummeted. Maybe the Canadians should be told.
