Imitatress

Phil,

That “imitatress” could even be considered as a common name for any bird outside the Roman or Greek Republics indicates how out of touch with common birders committees can occasionally be.
With any due respect, these committees sometimes seem to confuse themselves with Academia, and must secretly lust for Scientific standing.

I don’t suppose anything as democratic as a formal open forum run on say birding-aus for naming suggestions, (with an Indigenous voice section) might ever be considered?

Here’s to PC and absurdity.
