Hi all Following long overdue rain (20-30mm) over previous days, yesterday under threatening skies and unusual tropical-like humidity, I observed 100+ Fork-tailed Swifts at Gluepot between 8-10am. Smaller numbers were seen all day, and a further 200+ near the pig sheds at Taylorville around 4pm. Many birds in this last flock flew very low, at head-hight, during light rain. Other good sightings included an obliging pair of Striated Grasswrens, and 2 flocks of Black-eared Miners, totalling at least 50 birds, and two male Scarlet-chested Parrots: an adult and an immature (almost adult plumage). cheers Peter
