Hudsonian Godwit at Lake Wollumboola

The bird is still present for those who may be interested. Lorna Mee and I waited patiently for two hours today (1100 to 1300) for a combined group of Bar-tailed and Black-tailed Godwits to “raise your wings and stretch please” without any sight of the bird (Lorna was there when I arrived and may have invested much more time). Then at 1300 approx. it flew in solo to join the group from a southerly direction showing the underwing brilliantly when landing. NE corner of the lake and today a mixed flock of approx. 25 Godwits (sorry didn’t take a precise count) Best Graeme Stevens
