How often are Brolgas seen along the Clarence River? We are cruising in our sailing boat past Lawrence, northern N S W and have sighted a flock of 30 birds beside the river. Location: Riverbank Rd heading to wards Grafton, near some silos. Our GPS reading on the river was 29 degrees 31.459 S and 153degrees 06.490 E. Burney. Sent from my generic tablet device

Hi Burnice, There is a population of Brolgas in the Lawrence area which sometimes numbers up to 100. Groups of 30 or so are relatively common. It is one of the best places in NSW to see the species. Brolgas are reasonably common along the Clarence. The Lawrence area was the place to see them in numbers close to the 100 mark, especially before one particular paddock was turned to cane.
