Hello all, Arrived in Broome this afternoon and drove straight up to the Roebuck Plains Roadhouse. Easily found the Hoopoe on the grass just inside the caravan park fence, adjacent to the road.
Best bet is to check the five or six grassed areas and it has also been seen sitting in the small trees nearby.
Have also heard that a Semi-palmated Plover has been seen at the STW and on the beach directly behind the STW.

Does anyone know if this is an African or European Hoopoe? I have been living on a wildlife reserve in the north of South Africa for eight years where our bird list numbered over 250 species. African Hoopoes were plentiful and one of my favourite species – such jaunty little characters.
