Help with a commic tern

G’day everyone,

An image was taken recently by Paul Randall at WTP of a small commic tern. None of us at F@P can work out what it is.

If someone could have a look at it and let us know that they think it might be, it would be very much appreciated.

The bird in question is the first bird. The second picture is of a Common Tern taken on the same day, and posted for a comparison.

Regards, Mark

    G’day Mark and Paul,

They both look like Common Terns, the bird in question has started to moult its head, pre-breeding moult starts around now.

    Cheers Jeff.
