Vol 16 of the venerable Handbook of the Birds of the World arrived yesterday, up to the usual standard with great photos and text, but sadly almost all of it for the Americas, this must be the first volume which has got almost nothing for Australia or New Guinea, the only thing I can think off is vagrant Yellowhammer! Great to have an index sheet though so you can find in which volume the various families are covered, and exciting news of Vol 17 for new species and the on-line transmigration subscription that is being prepared for updates, new checklist, subspecies etc Phil Gregory ===============================

Sounds good – obviously Santa was a little delayed and is starting his run in Qld and hopefully will get to Melbourne soon.
