Grey Goshawk at Wallington

There was a white morph Grey Goshawk perched in a tree not far about 100m from the edge of the Bellarine Highway at Wallington this afternoon. It was about half a kilometer east of the Grubb Rd roundabout. This species was reported from the same area a few times last summer. Russell Woodford

G’day All IT is a long time since I have seen a white morph of the Grey Goshawk, but I saw one at the Thurra River Rest Area in far East Gippsland (Vic) last Monday. It was circling slowly of the forest just like a Grey morph would – but a lot more visible. Yes I was there looking for White-throated Needletails – but seeing some other birds while I waited was rewarding. Didn’t see any feral cats this trip though.
