gouldian finches + painted snipe at El Questro Wilderness Park

g’day everyone, In the last week i have observed flocks of gouldian finches feeding on sorghum grass seed and drinking at small pools in El Questro Wilderness Park, East Kimberley. Long-tailed finches have successfully fledged young in the same area, and masked finches are common. I have also seen the elusive Painted snipe in the park!

Other birds of interest observed here include: nesting wedgies and sea eagles pictorella mannikin crimson, double-barred and zebra finch spotted harrier white-quilled rock pigeon jabiru brolga shining flycatcher great bowerbird brush cuckoo plumed whistling ducks little woodswallows yellow-tinted honeyeater striated pardalote black-fronted dotterel
