While shooting groups claim a couple of thousand hunters at Lake Buloke on opening morning of the duck-shooting season this year, a source in the DSE says it was only 400. About 150 duck rescuers attended. If we could assemble 400 people at a wetlands hosting 400 duck shooters, we could effectively divert the birds and maybe even stop the slaughter.
