Sorry but this email forwarded in a rush on my way to work, as you will read SEQWater is considering allowing powered boats on Lake Samsonvale with only 4 days left of consultation, please follow the links and register your displeasure……it is still a ‘fauna-sanctuary’ and one of the best birding-spots in Qld (IMHO) Tom ———- Forwarded message ———- From: <rnoske@tpg.com.au> Date: Mon, Aug 12, 2013 at 12:32 AM Subject: Fw: Fwd: URGENT … Lake Samsonvale To: Tom Tarrant <aviceda@gmail.com >, Brian Coates <dovepub@hotkey.net.au> fyi and poss action *From:* Alan Boardman <abo84951@bigpond.net.au > *Sent:* Sunday, August 11, 2013 7:44 PM *To:* sulacox@optusnet.com.au ; Derrick James Thrasher <djt224@cornell.edu>; Daniel T Baldassarre <dtbaldas@syr.edu> ; Judith L-A <jlukin01@gmail.com> ; kevin ross <dvakevin@bigpond.net.au> ; vince.merle@bigpond.com ; rita larsen<larsenrita@hotmail.com>; mailto:rae.clark@bigpond.com <rae.clark@bigpond.com> ; mailto:rnoske@tpg.com.au <rnoske@tpg.com.au> *Subject:* Fwd: URGENT … Seqwater Recreation Review Dear All, Please send in a protest form to maintain the environment at Lake Samsonvale. You can complete the survey (last link) without registering, but I have also registered (the second link). If you could get your bird watching friends or groups to protest that would be pretty significant I think. I wonder if there were any bird watching groups represented at yesterday’s workshop (the discussion paper is at first link). Each representative was able to contribute their views, within the context of the published discussion paper http://www.yourseqwater.com.au/projects/samsonvale-kurwongbah/documents/74/download It was made clear that SEQWater would not be permit public access to Lake Kurwongbah because of risk from spreading the infestation of Cabomba weed This, and the representation of other groups, has resulted in a great deal of pressure to open Lake Samsonvale for powered watercraft. While LSWSA Committee members will contine in their efforts to protect the club’s interests, there is still an opportunity for individual club members to influence the outcome. – Register your interest on the SEQWater site http://www.yourseqwater.com.au/projects/seqwater-recreation-review – Fill in the Lake Samsonvale on-line survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LakeSamsonvale There have been already 450 survey responses. The registartion is via an email address, so please use any other emaill addresses you have access to, ask your family and friends, generate as many survey responses as you can. There remains only a limited period of time before survey submissions will close, so please fill in the survey with least delay.
