Wed 1 Jan Brown-headed Honeyeater Eadine Springs, Clackline The area around the springs was profuse with mistletoe in flower. Bird noises and activity everywhere. Several Brown-headed Honeyeaters plus White-cheeked and Brown. I was there for a social event so didn’t spend too much time birding. Ken Glasson Sun 29 Dec Sanderling Woodman Point Reserve, Munster Parked at Jervoise Bay Yacht Club and then walked along beach from there to the rock groyne with the Sculpture on it. Weather fine and sunny with no wind until about 8:30am when the seabreeze kicked in. Sanderling (1) On beach near the Point Ross Jones Glossy Ibis Bannitup Lake 12k east of Esperance -33.49.40S 122.04.03E Two Glossy Ibis flew in to the lake 80 metres from our position during a routine count of water and shorebirds and remained for our duration. These birds are very unusual for this area and the last recalled sighting is around ten years ago at Lake Wheatfield. Waterbirds abundant, migratory waders low in numbers and only 2 species. Water level still too high resulting in limited wading area. Seven observers present. This lake is difficult to access as private land is involved. Suggestion is that they could be found in the adjacent Warden Wetlands, the direction from which they came. Ken Read Sat 28 Dec Wood Sandpiper, Spotless Crake, Nankeen Night Heron Lake Claremont 1 on east side Bob Hay Birdline Western Australia is hosted by Eremaea Birds. _______________________________________________ Birding-Aus mailing list Birding-Aus@birding-aus.org To change settings or unsubscribe visit: http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org
