Birdline Tasmania Published sightings for the week ending 12 Jan 2014. Sun 12 Jan Banded Lapwing Harford, NW Tasmania Two groups of 13 birds each (with a number being juveniles) in one paddock of green bean seedlings, and another small group in another paddock nearby. John and Shirley Tongue Thu 9 Jan Freckled Duck Gould’s Lagoon, Granton Three ducks still present-two males in breeding mode with red ceres. Dion Hobcroft Wed 8 Jan Common Sandpiper Fishpond, East Ulverstone 1 Common Sandpiper seen in the same location as one was seen in Jan/February 2012.
