Hi Mark, Dr Greg Johnston of Flinders University in South Australia has been studying Australian Pelicans for several years, so it may have been one of his banded birds (although I think he also uses wing tags). His contact details are: Email: greg.johnston@flinders.edu.au Postal Address: Faculty of Science and Engineering, GPO Box 2100, Adelaide, SA 5001. However, all bird banding in Australia is co-ordinated by the Australian Bird & Bat Banding Scheme, Commonwealth Department of Environment in Canberra. You can report sightings of banded birds to them via the ABBBS website: http://www.environment.gov.au/topics/science-and-research/bird-and-bat-bandi ng/get-involved/report-band-sightings. Do these observations get reported, and if so, who to?
