FW: Superb Fairy-wrens in SMH

The SFW is not endangered in NSW either. I think the newspaper article was misleading, I would say that the SFW is extremely uncommon in the City of Sydney Local Government Area because most of its habitat has been cleared (very little habitat left and what remains occurs as isolated islands of habitat), predation by cats (and probably rats), possible disruption of nesting in parks by humans & dogs, maybe even impacted by the use of pesticides. So the SFW is probably endangered in the City of Sydney LGA. Now, I don’t believe they are endangered nationally, are they endangered locally?
