Dear all, Here is Steve Debus’ comment. There are plenty of post-HANZAB references to Barn Owls roosting in buildings in Oz, e.g. the series of pellet analysis papers that Andrew Ley and I did from the Diamantina (last in AFO 27(4): 179-183, Dec. 2010, which cites the previous ones, including one in Corella 28: 40-42, 2004, on owls roosting in doggers’ huts in arid SA). Most of these, up to early 2009, are listed in my owl field guide (2009), which I believe is still available from e.g. Andrew Isles. That guide mentioned nesting in buildings (based on HANZAB), but we need better evidence. If anyone can point me to such a reference, or has personal observations of their own that may help, I’d very much appreciate hearing from you. Many thanks Niven —– No virus found in this message.
