Even you are not old enough to get an armchair tick on that one Mike :) Dick Jenkin DUNGOG —–Original Message—– From: Birding-Aus [mailto:birding-aus-bounces@birding-aus.org] On Behalf Of Mike Carter Sent: Wednesday, 11 February 2015 4:52 PM To: ‘Birding Aus’ Subject: [Birding-Aus] FW: Christmas Island :- Blyth’s Pipit new for Australia in 1923! Just received an email from John Darnell about another new bird for Australia and Christmas Island, a specimen of Blyth’s Pipit that was collected in 1923! The specimen was considered lost and the ID doubtful (James & McAllan 2014) but has just been re-found in the Berlin Museum. While on the subject of Blyth, the write-up of the Blyth’s Swift seen on Cocos in December has just been submitted to BARC for assessment.
