A pair of Tawny frogmouths have nested on the same fork of a paperbark in Centennial Park in Sydney for the last four years to my knowledge. This year they hatched two young. On 18th of October I went to photograph the juveniles at the nest. There were two quite fluffy young with one adult at the nest. While photographing them my friend found three adult frogmouths about 15 meters away all jammed up on a short horizontal dead branch about 4 meters above ground. I wondered if they were two young of last year and one of the adults. Today the 26th I could only find one bird and it was on the roost away from the nest. It was very busy preening and I guess it was on of this years brood. Stuart.
