Many thanks to all who replied to my request for information on the ID of the Flying Fox – feedback was almost all that it was a Black Flying Fox though there were 2 or 3 votes or suggestions for Spectacled Flying Fox – however given the diagnostic feedback and my own additional research today I am confident it is a Black Flying Fox.
it was great to have such a close encounter and a nice change from the birds!
I will reply personally to all who responded.
many thanks again.
