Hi Folks, After 467mm of rain over the last two weeks we now have had a couple of fine sunny days bringing the birds out of hiding as well as the birdwatchers. A pair of Pacific Baza fledged their chicks last week and are now around the Lodge whinging for food as are a pair of Black Butcherbird with two brown juveniles. A pair of Pale-vented Bush-hen with six chicks appear to have lost one over the rainy period. Both Channel-billed Cuckoo and Spangled Drongo have been moving north in small flocks over the past two weeks.
