I’ve just finished a wonderful week on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula. Best birds included a pair of Western Grasswren near Whyalla and plenty of Blue-breasted Fairy-wren and Southern Scrub-Robin near Port Lincoln. More here: *http://tinyurl.com/q96zv79

Great stuff Greg. Anyone intending to look for Western Grasswren along the Whyalla-Iron Knob road, at the well-known site marked by the disused railway carriages, please be advised that those carriages have recently been removed and there is now a construction camp in its place. The grasswrens are still present, but only on the opposite side of the road. It’s not a real problem as they’re all through this area in suitable habitat, but if you’re looking for the railway carriages, they’ve gone! cheers Peter ——- Peter Waanders Bellbird Tours / Southern Birding Services / Australian Birding Store PO Box 2008, Berri SA 5343 Australia Phone: 1800-BIRDING (free from landlines within Australia) mob.: +61 (0)409 763172 sat.: +61 (0)424 212889 Email: birds@bellbirdtours.com Bellbird Tours: http://www.bellbirdtours.com Southern Birding Services: http://www.sabirding.com Birding Store: http://www.birdingstore.com.au Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Southern-Birding-Services/134270499971996
