I am going birding in Young NSW in a few days and in preparing for the trip
have noticed Eurasian Tree-sparrow appears on lists from both eBird and
BLA. I would be interested in keeping an eye open for this species, but
note that the eBird record dates from 1975! Has anyone seen the Tree
Sparrows in the Yung area more recently than that (say the last 5 years)?

Do you mean with binoculars, Philip, or the naked eye? I’m curious to know if you do this using markings on the bird, or if Tree Sparrows actually have a different jizz to House Sparrows.
