And the Shooters & Fishers Party has the balance of power in NSW, so I’m waiting for a broadening of animal hunting here… one of their stated policies.
It’s enormously frustrating. I know some people who hunt responsibly and wouldn’t dream of harming native wildlife. They love the outdoor life & protection of native flora & fauna at least as much as I do – in many cases more.
But the balance of power is held by a bunch of red neck nutters who want the opening up of marine parks to fishing, 4WD & hunting access to all National Parks, the firearm age lowered to 10, the transfer of the NSW Game Bird Management Program from National Parks and Wildlife Service to Game Council NSW. Legalisation of incest and folk dancing is next I tell ya.

You need to convince quite a few voters in certain electorates to stop voting for candidates that support duck shooting. A gun shop owner came very close to winning a seat in country Victoria in the last election, and you can guess what one of his platforms was.
