Just a quick note to say that we’re gradually getting the Bird-O pelagics pages up and running at http://bird-o.com/australian-pelagics/.
The aim in the coming weeks is to list all the dates for forthcoming trips. There are now some pages which show trip history and there’s contact information for the operators. Andrew Stafford just wrote a great feature piece on pelagics and we’ve got some other pelagic articles soon, including a piece on shore-based sea-watches and summer off Southport.
Do you watch seabirds from shore? If so, we’d like to hear from you. Going out for hours on boats is not what everyone wants to do, so it would be great to supplement our maps with places to watch from land and some history of the sightings there.
If you want to add your own pelagics to the Bird-O pages, it’s simple:
1. Visit http://au.seabirds.wildiaries.com and click “Start Here” (the new user interface makes this really easy!). 2. If you’re adding a trip at a regular trip, give it a name so it can be re-used by others. For instance, if you add a Port Macdonnell trip, just type “Macdonnell” into the location field and it should pop up.
