Decline in Seabird numbers

Sorry to come into this thread a little late and I may have missed something but I am very interested in any evidence (papers, stats, even pers. coms from seabird researchers) for the following propositions: “now is a time when overall seabird numbers are artificially increased due to the absence of significant feeding competition from Cetaceans”. Any help on references for these would be greatly appreciated as I spend a fair bit my year doing field work on pelagic species and their breeding islands for various agencies. Ciao
