In the dawn chorus on New Year’s Day I heard a Red-capped Dasher (Weigelensis johnii). It was an exhausted nomad. Slater records it as “Thank goodness I can have a lie in” Good work Mr. Weigel!!
Cheers

Not sure that Red-capped Dasher’s scientific name follows nomenclature rules, Dion. After all, John is not from Weigel ( as weigelensis suggests), so can I suggest Weigelus somersbyensis johnii?
I can however wholeheartedly agree with the line about a sleep in…..
Well Done, John!! I hope the devils appreciate you being home….
