Common Mynas breeding in April – Is this normal?

I live in Ashfield, Sydney and yesterday (April 8) I noticed a family of Common Mynas with fledglings in the street in front of me. Now as I sit here typing this I can here Myna chicks begging from a nest my back roof (they are definitely Mynas – I have checked). In the past I have noticed Mynas nesting in Spring and often again in summer, but is it ‘normal’ for them to breed in April?

I don’t know about Mynahs’ breeding habits, but I was a little surprised this morning to se a pair of Wood Duck with a dozen fluffy ducklings in tow wandering across the paddock towards one of my dams. Paul Osborn, Bulahdelah NSW
