Short-tailed Shearwaters moving past Lord Howe Island

Hi Birding Aus

Yesterday morning (6 October 2020) I was out fishing <1km north of Lord Howe Island and observed a steady number of Short-tailed Shearwaters flying past the island heading SW. Groups of 10-20 were fairly common and there was always a number moving through for the several hours . . . → Read More: Short-tailed Shearwaters moving past Lord Howe Island

Seasonal Calling

G’day Folks

I had a pleasure of a fragrant walk to the Pinnacle in the Springbrook National Park [several km north of the NSW border]. The Wompoos, Wonga Pigeons, Noisy Pittas and Black Faced Monarchs were all in fine voice.

Regards, Laurie.

Does anyone out there still have The Bird Observer (monthly magazine of The Bird Observers Club – or BOCA in later years), of February 1967, Number 423. My collection only dates from 1970 (when I joined). If yes, would you be able to look at it for me. I am seeking a specific . . . → Read More: The Bird Observer of 1967
