I will be grateful for any advice and suggestions – accommodation, birding guides, . . . → Read More: Tiwi Islands

Looking for used Kowa TSN-553 scope

I enquired recently about people’s experiences with the Kowa and other compact scopes. Thank you to all who replied. Does anyone out there have a Kowa TSN-553 that they don’t use and would consider selling to me? Regards Elisabeth Dark Sydney . . . → Read More: Looking for used Kowa TSN-553 scope

Cicadabirds wing-shuffling

I notice that the Australian Bird Guide says that Cicadabirds ‘unlike other Cuckoo-Shrikes does not shuffle its wings on landing’. I don’t see Cicadbirds very often but I have definitely seen them shuffling their wings on occasions. What do other observers think? John Leonard

Aust feather guide

Hi all, I think that one of the US guides to Australian birds included feather IDs. Maybe Readers Digest? Perhaps this might jog better memories than mine? Cheers, Tony Ashton
