Late this afternoon Ruth Woodrow, Tim Bawden and I had the opportunity to check the gannet colony at Point Danger near Portland, Victoria. We found a single Cape Gannet in the eastern edge of the colony (several hundred birds). We observed and photographed the bird for around 20 minutes before cold winds got the best of us. See Birdline Vic: http://www.eremaea.com/BirdlineRecentSightings.aspx?Birdline=1 for a single iPhone photograph of the LCD screen on my camera.
