Hi, I live in Margaret River, I’m pretty sure I saw a small flock of Budgies fly past my property in Kilcarnup – has anyone heard of budgies being in this part of south west Australia ? Any advice would be much appreciated Kind regards Steve Castan Sent from my iPad

Thanks for all the responses – much appreciated I’ll keep an eye out and check if I can as to whether they are PCLs or RPs as suggested. Steve Sent from my iPad

Just found it and put it on my favourites panel. I’ll have a look sometime. —–Original Message—– Martin Butterfield Sent: Wednesday, January 6, 2016 10:13 AM Cc: birding-aus@birding-aus.org Steve I checked the eBird distribution map for budgies and clipped to SW WA with the result attached (I changed the colour of the active squares to make them stand out better). Nothing too close to Margaret River. Drilling down to the hotspots underlying the squares most of them reflect a single report, often from a few years ago. Much more likely a flock of Rock Parrots which are common in the area. In flight they do look similar.
