Some of us have been having an interesting exchange in recent weeks on the problems of identifying Broad-billed Flycatcher from female Leaden Flycatcher. See here for the details of this conversation, which includes the prospect of this species occurring well south of its known range in southeast Queensland. In short, we’re not sure, but hopefully we are becoming more enlightened about what to look out for.
