bristlebird & scrubbird

Nick I saw your post and was a little alarmed by your offer to share site information in the Border Ranges. I have had numerous requests for details of sites for scrubbird and bristlebird in this area and I don’t hesitate to politely decline. Many years ago I found several scrubbird territories at Gloucester Tops and happily shared that information. These days those poor birds are harassed endlessly by playback. The bristlebird is especially sensitive with only a handful remaining in northern NSW. Frankly, none of us should be using playback to see the species in the critically endangered south-east Queensland-north-east NSW population, let alone sharing site information. People generally are understanding about these matters.
