The Birds of East Africa by Stevenson & Fanshawe is now on iTunes as an iphone/ipad app. Not cheap ~ $30 but a nice addition to the field guide apps now becoming available.
1300 species and 1000 with calls.

I’ve just finished reading the Novel of the same name: Guide to the Birds of East Africa. Loved it and thoroughly recommend the audiobook version read by Humphrey Bower.

G’day all
Please don’t buy this app until further notice. There is a copyright dispute erupting over the calls included. I thought it was odd that there was no mention in the credits of the source of the calls.
If and when this is resolved I’ll pass on the information but at the moment the person who says he owns the calls is requesting that the app is pulled from sale.
I have no stake in this by the way.
