Pied Oystercatcher (Haematopus longirostris) (35) Birds were resting on the beach or feeding in shallow water along with 7 Sooty OYkS Reported by: Winston Syson on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 ——————————————— Location: Hassel Road Ponds (Goolwa Ponds) Goolwa Freckled Duck (Stictonetta naevosa) (1) Single bird on large pond to the right of bird hide. Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) (1) Bird was hawking high over the wetland Reported by: Winston Syson on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 ——————————————— Date: Saturday, May 2, 2015 Location: Tanunda Sewage Ponds Blue-billed Duck (Oxyura australis) (50) Mostly on the far side of the pond with the viewing platform Pink-eared Duck (Malacorhynchus membranaceus) (80) Mostly on the next pond to the west. Australasian Shoveler (Anas rhynchotis) (20) Among the above, along with a number of Grey Teal. Also several Hoary-headed Grebe, and large numbers of Masked Lapwing on the banks. Reported by: Kevin Stracey on Saturday, May 2, 2015 ——————————————— Date: Sunday, May 3, 2015 Location: Gregory street Port Elliot Crested Shrike-tit (Falcunculus frontatus) (1) Single bird was constantly calling and and looking for prey on a large Eucalypt ( SA Blue Gum ) on the block next to me. Black-chinned Honeyeater (Melithreptus gularis) (1) Single bird was calling from a blue Gum 2 blocks from me.
