Location: Flagstaff Hill Golf Club Flagstaff Hill S.A. (on island in &th. hole lake

Pacific Black Duck (Anas superciliosa) (1) Completely unknown variation ( if it is a P.B.Duck).

Photos taken but I don’t know how to show them.

Bird……Duck / Teal……..Size, nearer Black D. than Coot…. Head Glaringly white with a very dark line through eye, ( not a supercillium ) , a small black, tapered chin / gape matching the eye line in colour and mottled grey cap…..Neck and breast glaringly white,

centre of ‘tummy’ not seen but vent / rump also white…..Sides of breast dappled light chestnut (?) darkening further back with wings a medium dark brown with markings somewhat similar to Pac. Black Duck or Grey Teal …..Tail not clearly seen but feather’s seemed to be white tipped…..Legs quite Mallard in colour……Bill quite distinctive, ( I think ), base a slate grey with a clear delineation about half way down with remainder greenish.

Coloured parts rather different to anything I’ve seen but the white is quite outstanding….. Initially seen with Coots and Black Ducks but 2 hrs. later resting alone.

With luck someone will tell me how to download photos. If not, please feel free to contact me as my wife and I would love to know what it is or could be.
