Reported by: Graeme Cellier on Saturday, December 21, 2013 ——————————————— Date: Saturday, December 21, 2013 Location: Ethelton Laughing Kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) (1) Finally saw this bird that I had been hearing for a couple of days. It’s been hanging around in a small park at the end of my street (Waite St). I’ve never seen or heard a Kookaburra before in the 15 years I’ve been living here but we do get some interesting occasional visitors. Once a Sacred Kingfisher stopped for an afternoon in my garden and during the drought there were Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos and numerous other parrots that had come down from the Hills. But I still don’t believe the neighbours that swear they once saw a Malleefowl on their roof!
