Grey Shrike-thrush (Colluricincla harmonica) (2) This morning, when it was still cool, a pair of grey shrike-thrushes were on the dusty ground a metre apart doing what certainly looked like dancing, and taking it in turns to warble, Is this unusual behaviour ? It is bone dry there and you would not expect them to be thinking of romance at this time of year.
Also seen the previous evening when the light was fading and the birds were getting frisky, a diamond firetail, and a (silent) female golden whistler. The last time I saw a golden whistler was in April 2016, also a female.
