Location: Thompson Beach Dublin

Curlew Sandpiper (Calidris ferruginea) (100+) Birds were feeding in a flooded Saltpan and Samphire at the Northern end of the beach.

Red-necked Stint (Calidris ruficollis) (1) Birds were feeding also in the Saltpan and Samphire.

Location: Bold Hill Beach Port Wakefield

Eastern Curlew (Numenius madagascariensis) (15) Birds were feeding in shallow water at the high tide mark. Shouthern end of beach

Red-necked Stint (Calidris ruficollis) (500) Large flock were feeding with 12 Curlew and 6 Sharp-tailed Sandpiper at the Southern end of the Beach

Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres) (13) Several spots along the beach

Grey Plover (Pluvialis squatarola) (4) Birds were feeding along the shoreline on the high tide.

Grey-tailed Tattler (Heteroscelus brevipes) (3) On rocks on high tide

Red Knot (Calidris canutus) (320) Large flock were feeding in shallow water on the high tide.

Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica) (9) Roosting on the high tide mark.

Date: Saturday, December 10, 2016

Location: Aldinga WashPool swamp.

Cape Barren Goose (Cereopsis novaehollandiae) (16) Nice sized flock of Cape Barren Geese loafing on the swamp

There were multitudes of many species of waterfowl spread right across the swamp. I only had a crappy set of 7X32 binoculars which are always in the car so a call back is strongly recommended.
