Birdline Central & Southern Queensland Published sightings for the week ending 28 Dec 2014. Sat 27 Dec Dollarbird Coles Creek A flock of between 50 and 70 Dollarbirds travelled through the area. They were circling in a massive flock with several landing for short periods before taking flight again. They moved slowly from the west heading in an easterly direction. Ashley Keune Fri 26 Dec Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater Pacific Harbour Golf Course, Bribie Island, Queensland, AU The highlight this morning was 1 Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater. The bird was quite vocal so alerted its presence. A bit of Striped Honeyeater activity – very vocal – amongst the usual suspects. Photograph of S-c Honeyeater attached. Habitat: paddocks with short new grass and scattered low trees including clumps of bloodwoods.
