Thu 6 Nov South Island Pied Oystercatcher Lord Howe Island Single found during Lord Howe Island Bird Week (no specific site details). Ian Hutton (per Facebook) Wed 5 Nov Eastern Yellow Wagtail (tschutschensis) Papunya Noticed smallish bird on water’s edge at Papunya Sewage Ponds. Has similar flight jizz to Grey Wagtail seen in Alice Springs WTP last year. Took photos. Checked photos with others more knowledgeable in this area. Stated too tall in legs and tail too short for Grey Wagtail, ID as Eastern Yellow Wagtail ssp. tschutschensis. Richard Waring Sun 2 Nov Yellow Honeyeater Banksia Beach, Bribie Island A single bird perhaps 800 kilometres out of range and the first record for south-east Qld. Greg Roberts Yellow Oriole Proserpine River, Glen Isla Road, Proserpine A number of Yellow Orioles heard calling along the banks of the Proserpine River. Have not heard them this far South before. Dale Mengel Wed 29 Oct Little Ringed Plover Nairns (Peel Inlet) Single bird in mud flats and samphire between bird hide and river mouth. The bird had been reported earlier in the day by Craig Lester and then successfully twitched by a number of birders over the next 2 days. No further reports of the bird from the 31/10 onward.
