I have been informed that the State Government (DPI) had two Barbary Doves removed from their main site in Bayside – the Brighton Dunes/Dr Jim Willis Reserve – on 17 Feb.
That was a day after I saw one on a nest there.
So that means no(?) breeding population remains in Victoria. Thank you, DPI (and in the past DSE)!
Please report any further sightings to the DPI (or me),
I guess that people are releasing surplus cage birds so they could get going again.
