Dear All,
Does anyone know of, or have any experience with an iPad app that can run NATMAP or any other topographic maps of Australia files? Such an app would be handy, not only for birders, but for anyone carrying out field work.
Cheers,
Carl Clifford ===============================

Carl,
Have a look at Memory Map: http://memory-map.com.au. There are apps available for iOS, Android, and Windows CE.
The NATMAP 250 maps are available for free download as Austopo250. There are larger scale state topo maps available for NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and QLD (cheapest download option is $99US per state), as are current versions of the HEMA touring maps at $40US per region, or $140US for complete coverage).
cheers Paul

Carl,
For iOS have you tried the “Avenza PDF Maps” app? http://www.avenza.com/pdf-maps
From memory the application is free, with in-app purchase for individual map sets including a range of Australian topo’s for a few bucks each. Not sure if it has full covereage.
Cheers, Scott.
Hi Carl and John,
Mud Maps may be the one you are after, although you do have to purchase the maps.
Regards
Judith
