Last week there were a couple of bittern sightings in the southern part of WTP, then one at the Borrow Pits on Sunday, which I think is about 10km north east of the earlier sightings. David Richardson found one at Truganina Swamp about 20km north east of there the next day.
I’m wondering what the possibility is that these were three different birds. Can anyone tell me the current population estimate for Victoria? I thought it was very low.
