Australasian Ornithological Conference 2015 BirdLife Australia, in collaboration with Birds New Zealand, is committed to holding biennial conferences that provide a regular forum for the exchange of information and ideas between avian-based researchers and conservationists throughout the Australasian region. The conferences are held in a variety of venues to give attendees an opportunity to explore the diverse birdlife in the region. This year the AOC will be held in Adelaide, South Australia on the campus of Flinders University. The scientific program will runWednesday 25th to Friday 27th November and field trips will run 28th-29th November. Conference program highlights include a diverse range of short plenary lectures on topics ranging from woodland bird and penguin conservation, invasive species, sex and speciation, avian palaeobiology, evolutionary ecology, and stress. Dr. Stephen Murphy will deliver a special lecture on the latest discoveries on the elusive and mysterious night parrot. Field trip options include the Murray River mouth and lower lakes region, wetlands and woodlands (Adelaide Hills).
