I’ve successfully used hopshopgo.com several times to reship items from the US. Most recently they reshipped some running shoes for me. All up it was under 50% of the sale price for the same shoes in Australia, and took about 10 days total. The shoe manufacturer (ASICS) doesn’t allow US retailers to ship to Australia. Some well-known bushwalking gear manufacturers have similar policies. And many Amazon sellers (unlike ebay) just don’t ship to Australia.
