Here is the latest of a series of posts about how the status and distribution of many birds in South-East Queensland has changed markedly over the 40 years between 1979 and 2019. Some have increased in numbers, like the Australian Brush-turkey thanks to the greening of suburbia. Others have declined sharply, like the Curlew-Sandpiper due to the destruction of feeding habitat in East Asia.
